Increasing energy prices and threats of climatic changes
... are just a few recent aspects that have changed awareness in many European regions towards energy supply and consumption. These two are key elements of the acknowledged need to reduce energy consumption and to apply ecologic aspects besides other areas in the construction of buildings. However, throughout Europe, there is no homogenous awareness of requirements in this field.
Thus, the partners of this European project, supported by a number of strategic multipliers, will try to increase awareness and understanding of the ecological value of energy-saving construction, particularly by the improvement of vocational teaching contents in this field which, may lead one step closer to attaining the goals of the Kyoto protocol.
The European project ‘BETTER BUILDING'
... has been introduced to foster awareness raising especially in construction relevant issues in Italy, Turkey and Slovenia. This shall mainly be achieved by providing teachers and trainers in VET with approved learning contents and training materials to VET teachers that show how to use energy-saving materials and how to reduce energy consumption in building construction.
